Faye Balentine Williams, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home on May 3, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 9, 1945, in Lauderdale County, Alabama, Faye dedicated over 50 years of her life to a rewarding career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her expertise and compassionate care touched many lives throughout her tenure at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home, and as a private care nurse.
Faye's educational journey began with her graduation from Central High School in Florence, Alabama, followed by earning her LPN certification from Calhoun Community College. Her commitment to healthcare was evident not only in her professional endeavors but also in her personal life, where she devoted herself to caring for her family.
In her free time, Faye cherished the moments spent gardening and cooking, activities that brought her immense joy. However, her greatest passion was being surrounded by her family, particularly her grandkids and great-grandkids, whom she adored and spoiled with love.
She is survived by her daughter Cheryl McNeal of Florence, Alabama; grandchildren Kristen Conley and her husband Bradley, Jennifer Horton, and Thomas Horton, all of Florence, Alabama; and great-grandchildren Jace Sharp, Kenley Sharp, and Jasper Sharp, also from Florence, Alabama. Faye is fondly remembered by her brothers Jerry Wesson of Florence, Alabama, Jim Wesson and his wife Suzie of Collinwood, Tennessee, and Gene Wesson of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Her sisters, Judy Woodruff of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Peggy Cooper and her husband Steve of Florence, Alabama, along with sister-in-law Nola Wesson, and several nieces and nephews, carry on her legacy of love and care.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Glen and Virgie Horton Wesson; her son, John Balentine; and her brothers Junior Wesson, David Wesson, and Tuck Wesson. She also mourned the loss of her sisters-in-law Kay Wesson, Beulah Wesson, and Shirley Wesson, as well as her brother-in-law Woody Woodruff.
Faye Balentine Williams leaves behind a remarkable legacy of kindness, dedication, and love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
