Henderson, TN: Florine Massey Cherry age 94 passed away October 25, 2011 at the Chester County Healthcare.
She was born and reared in Finger, TN the daughter of the late James Orby and Vivian Patterson Massey. She attended school at Finger and Bethel Springs and graduated at Bethel Springs High School in 1937. She was married to W.B. ‘Bill’ Cherry in 1938. They made their home in Henderson. She was one of the first crew hired at Salant & Salant Mfg. and worked there for seven years. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ and a member of the Business & Professional Women Association (BPWA) and the Freed Hardeman Associates. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Mother-In-Law and loved being with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Billy Cherry and wife Barbara of Henderson and a daughter-in-law, Sherri Cherry of Henderson; two grandchildren; Shayne Cherry of Henderson, Samantha Grosland (Matt) of Hendersonville, TN; one great-grandchild, Jon Michael Cherry; a brother, Don Massey of Hendersonville, TN and a sister, Doris Jester of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. B. ‘Bill’ Cherry in 2005; a son, Mickey Cherry in 2010 and a brother, James L. Massey in 2011.
