Henderson, TN: Frances Alma Winn Davis Blankenship, age 88 passed away Friday, September 3, 2010.
She was born in Raleigh, TN and reared in Memphis, TN the daughter of the late William Judson and Bessie Edward Maxey Winn. She graduated from Central High School in Memphis in 1940. She took some courses at Christian Brothers College and U.T. in Memphis. She was married to Grant Davis, Jr. in 1943. Mr. Davis was in the Air Force and they made their home in several places but basically in Memphis. Mr. Davis died in 1965. She was married to Felix Blankenship in 1967 and they made their home in Memphis. She was an accountant for several different places and worked her last eight years as an accountant for Schering-Plough in Memphis. They moved to the Wilson School Community in 1985 and built a log cabin on the site of the old Wilson School House. Mr. Blankenship died in 1997.
She was a member of the Town and Country Family Community and Education Club, a member of the Freed-Hardeman Associates and a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Don Grant Davis of Memphis; a daughter, Cheri Lynn Davis White (Steve) of Boulder, CO and was preceded in death by a daughter Frances Patricia (Pat) Davis of Memphis in January of this year. She also has four step daughters, Janice Blankenship Pinckley (Charles) of Carthage, TN, Janet Blankenship Medley (Dan) of Oakland, TN, Betty Blankenship Meredith (Don) of Waynesboro, TN and Sharon Blankenship Pinckley (Roy) of Henderson; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and a sister, Margie Anderson of St. Louis, MO.
