Clara Frances DeBerry Braly, 85, of Henderson died on May 23,
2011. She was born in McNairy County on January 30, 1926, to the
late Joe Clint and Gracie Thomas Hearn DeBerry. Frances attended
Phillips School and Chester County High School, where she graduated in 1943. She earned an associate’s degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Frances was married for 59 years to the late Edwin Harris Braly
Sr., a former Air Force bombardier navigator and chaplain. She
tirelessly fulfilled the role of a pastor’s wife as she raised her young
and growing family. She owned and operated the Medical Building
Pharmacy in Dallas, Georgia, for more than 25 years. After her return to Chester County in 2007, “Miss Fran†was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Throughout her life, her gentle, quiet spirit demonstrated devotion to her Savior and family. Her life was a testimony of His grace.
She is survived by her five children: Edwin H. Braly Jr. (Barbara)
of Bartlett; Mary Ann Hanson (James) of Henderson; William Clint
Braly (Beverly) of Auckland, New Zealand; Daniel Mark Braly of
Henderson; and Miriam Elizabeth Hall (Wendell) of Dallas, Georgia;
a sister, Tommie Sue Murley of Henderson; 13 grandchildren; 36
great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles David Braly; her sister, Virginia Middleton of Memphis; and her brother, Joe Clint “Jack†DeBerry Jr. of Jackson.
