Frances Gayle Lunsford Dingus

Frances Gayle Lunsford Dingus, age 81, of Clifton, TN, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. She was born on April 28, 1944, in Norton, VA.

For years, she dedicated herself to her work as a receptionist at Dr. Jesch's office, where her warm smile and kind nature brought comfort to all who walked through the door. In addition to her professionalism, Gayle offered her services for cleaning, showcasing her dedication and strong work ethic.

Gayle shared a deep and loving bond with her husband, Billy Dingus, who sadly preceded her in death on September 19, 2025. Their love story was one marked by devotion, and they are now reunited in eternal peace.

As we remember Gayle, let us cherish her spirit and the kindness she extended to those around her. She showed nothing but love to everyone and was a mother figure for so many, which is how she got her nickname ‘Nany’. Her legacy of love and care will forever remain in our hearts.

She is survived by her grandson, Michael Scott Dingus of Clifton, TN; granddaughter, Rachelle Johnston of Chesterfield, IN; sister, Peggy of VA; sister in law, Joann Dingus; and her children, Jeff Dingus and Chrissy Dingus; great grandchildren, Kingston Dingus, Memphis Dingus, Lettie Dingus, and Legacy Dingus.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Billy Dingus; parents; and siblings, Judy, Rubal, Cynthia, Doug, and Kenny.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Waynesboro ,TN.
