Frances Marie Thompson departed this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 20 days. She was born in Clifton, Tennessee on December 3, 1931, the daughter of the late Bill and Vera Ricketts McMahan. On December 31, 1949, she was united in marriage to Eunis Clay Thompson, who preceded her in death on December 29, 2002.
Frances Marie had spent some time in Wayne County, but the majority of her life had been spent in Hardin County. She had attended Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was a housekeeper at Tri-County Nursing Home for six years. She enjoyed arts and crafts, talking to everyone and aggravating...she was a big cut-up.
She is survived by her children, Glenda Franks and husband Edward of Olivehill, Tennessee and Vernon Fay Thompson and wife Kim of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, David Franks, Randy Eddington, Larry Jr. Murphy, Kevin Thompson, Paula Tacker, Maryann Melson, and Nick Thompson; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Janette McMahan of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Ronnie Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Linda Thompson, and Brenda Eddington; and brothers, Bobby McMahan, Jr. McMahan, and Willis McMahan.
