Francis Adams Smith Boroughs



was born in Decatur County, Tennessee on January 10, 1924 the daughter of the late Albert and Hannah Kyle Adams.



Mrs. Boroughs was employed with Clifton Manufacturing Company for 35 years as a machine operator before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clifton, Tennessee and a loyal volunteer for the Clifton Chamber of Commerce.



Mrs. Boroughs departed this life at her home in Clifton, Tennessee on Friday. January 15, 2010 at the age of 86 years, 5 days.



She is survived by 3 daughters, Robbin Jones and husband Joe, Doris Halford and husband James, Teresa Walker and husband Jean all of Clifton; 2 granddaughters, Christy Howard and husband Jeff of Clawson, Michigan, and Tonya Ricketts of Clifton; 2 stepsons, Wallace Boroughs of Clifton and Jack Boroughs of Waynesboro, Tennessee; 6 step-grandchildren, Dave Boroughs, Susan McAfee, Tracy Battles, Marie Shelton, Jackie Boroughs, and Montie Boroughs; 9 great-grandchildren, Jordan Ricketts, Rachel Boyd, Jessica Boyd, Joey Boyd, Benjamin Jones, Nicholas Jones, Hannah Jones, Zachary Jones, and Kaylee Jones; 1 great-great-grandchild, Angelique Boyd; 4 sisters, Elsie Miller and husband Clarence of Indiana, Pat Barber and husband Thomas of Bells, Tennessee, Betty Hill and Carolyn French both of Trenton, Tennessee; 2 brothers, Hurbert Adams and wife Marie, Dr. John Adams and wife Robie all of Humboldt, Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Adams; a very sdear friend, Marion Davis.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boroughs was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Walter Smith in 1980; her second husband, Montie Ward Boroughs in 1995; a stepson, Jimmy Boroughs; a brother, Hermie Adams; 2 sisters, Pauline Pullie and Earline Adams; a grandchild, Jeffrey Joe Jones.
