FRANK ROWSEY

Henderson: William Frank Rowsey, age 93, died Saturday night, November 28, 2009 at Jackson General Hospital.



Mr. Rowsey was born and reared in Henderson, the son of the late Leonard Virgil and Emma Ruth Croom Rowsey. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1934 and attended radio engineering school in Washington, D.C. He owned and operated the Western Auto Store in Henderson for several years and in 1942 became employed by the Federal Aviation Administration and worked as a flight service specialist at Jacks Creek and Jackson until his retirement in 1974.



He was active in the First United Methodist Church, serving on the administrative board and other boards of the church. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge #485 in Henderson. He was a very active amateur radio operator and was known by W4EDC call letters since 1936 and was a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association. He served on the board of directors of First State Bank for many years.



He is survived by his wife Rebecca Ann Cason Rowsey, two sons Bill Rowsey of Southaven, MS and Bob Rowsey and wife Becky of Henderson, two daughters Ann Truett and husband Ed of Memphis and Becky Richardson and husband Tom of Alta, Utah and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.



Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Shackelford-Casey Chapel with Randy Cooper officiating and burial will follow at Chester County Memory Gardens. The family will received friends at Casey Chapel beginning 12:00 noon Monday.
