FRED MEADOWS

Pinson, TN: Fred Charles Meadows, age 76, passed away October 24, 2025 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born July 9, 1949, in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Claude Vance and Alice Marie Knight Meadows. He grew up in Pinson and was a graduate of Southside High School in Jackson.

He worked at Bemis Mill right out of high school and continued there over twenty years until it closed. He then went to work at Southern Lithoplate in Jackson until his retirement.

He was a member of Pinson Baptist Church.

He enjoyed raising and training beagle dogs and was a big NASCAR fan.

He enjoyed taking care of his farm.

He was very well liked and leaves many friends.

Mr. Meadows is survived by three brothers, Marvin Meadows (Kay) of Pinson, Ronald R. Meadows of Henderson and Kenneth Dale Wilkinson of Pinson and four sisters, Nancy Sue Horton of Beech Bluff, Kathy Ray of Pinson, Dora Marie Jones of Enville and Martha Walls of Pinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Jean Roark.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 29th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Dylan McMinn officiating. Burial will follow at Big Springs Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time Wednesday.
