Fred V. Vinson

Fred V. Vinson was born August 14, 1923 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Oscar and Bessie Varnell Vinson.He was united in marriage to Allie Hayes, who preceded him in death on April 11, 2000. Mr. Vinson was a side laster for Brown Shoe Company in Selmer, where he worked for 20 years. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, and was a member of the Eastside church of Christ in Selmer. Mr. Vinson departed this life on August 19, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 5 Days. He is survived by three daughters: Jacqueline Inman and husband Robert of Selmer, TN, Billie M. Manley of Barlett, TN, Alice Knowels of Bartlett, TN and one son J. Hayes Maxwell and wife Barb of St Petersburg, FL; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbye Dabbs Cole.
