Fred Weeks departed this life on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 15 days. He was born in Corinth, Mississippi on May 20, 1932 the son of the late Charlie Victor and Sellie Forsyth Weeks. He was united in marriage to Christine Jones December of 1954.
Fred was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved his parents very much. He had worked for Ivers and Ponds Piano Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Fred made beautiful furniture and was a master craftsman at duck call making and was the inventor of checkered duck calls. He served as Worshipful Master to Angerona Masonic Lodge #168 in Memphis, Tennessee and was a present member of the DeSoto Lodge #299. Fred was also a member of the American Duck Makers Association of America. He was of Pentecostal belief.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Christine Weeks; daughter, Janice Smith and husband, Omar of Woodstock, Georgia; grandchildren, Janice Nicole Hales and Nathan Smith; sisters, Peggy Lassiter, Evelyn Hamilton, and Barbara Jean Irvin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randy Weeks; daughter, Cheryl Hales; and brothers, Troy Weeks, Bill Weeks, and Randolph Weeks.
