Gailda Copeland Swinford, of Collinwood, TN was born July 11, 1947 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Emeral Wayne and Vertie Neva Morris Copeland.
Mrs. Swinford departed this life Friday, February 26, 2010 at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 62 Years, 7 Months, 15 Days.
As a former employee of General Motors, she was a photographer-typesetter and was a member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Gretchen Shelton and husband, Jeremy of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Sarah Neva, Laura Elizabeth, Wyatt Cole, and Elijah Gage Shelton; brothers, Donnie and Anthral Copeland both of Collinwood, TN; and sister, Joyce Copeland Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Copeland and a sister, Wanda Copeland.
Services will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 28, 2010 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Monday, March 1, 2010 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
