Gary Paul Matthews Sr.

Gary Paul Matthews Sr. was born August 7, 1945 in Waynesboro, TN the son of the late William Price and Gladys Odell Hughes Matthews. Gary was united in marriage to Patricia Bettini on October 25, 1975. He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Gary was the owner of Food Man Inc. and was also a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesboro TN. Gary departed this life on March 16, 2023 in Columbia, TN at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 9 days.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia Matthews; daughters, Pam Matthews, and Jessica Matthews; son, Jason Matthews(Sierra); a sister, Barbara Reed, all of Waynesboro TN; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his son Gary Paul Matthews Jr.

The family will be hosting a private service following the burial at 3:00 pm in Ralph-Cole Cemetery in Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
