Gary Wayne Skelton

Gary Wayne Skelton, 54, of Waynesboro, TN departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2011 at his home. He was born July 24, 1957 in Hohenwald, Tennessee, the son of Ruby Nell Whitehead Skelton of Waynesboro, TN who survives and the late Herschel Clark Skelton. He was united in marriage to Machell Jackson Skelton on December 5, 1975. Gary was a truck driver for Crews Logging and was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.



Other than his mother and step-father, David Decker, he is survived by his wife, Rose Machell Jackson Skelton; daughter, Daisha Skelton Andrews and husband, John all of Waynesboro. He was a devoted grandfather to John Tyler and Tucker Wayne Andrews of Waynesboro, TN. Others surviving include three sisters, Sharri Partain and husband, Bo of Clifton, TN, Rhonda Edwards and husband, Michael and Valerie Nutt and husband, Steve all of Waynesboro, TN; a brother, Byron Skelton and wife, Paula of Clifton, TN; nieces and nephews.



Services will be Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro with Bobbie Martin officiating. Burial will be in Christian Cemetery near Waynesboro with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be David Decker, Rob Martin, Tim Skelton, Bryant Burcham, Chris Nelson, and Joel Gobbell with Jeremy and Tommy Staggs serving as honorary pallbearers.
