Gelena Perrin

Gelena (Gill) Gatlin Perrin of Buttermilk Ridge Road, Lawrenceburg, TN was born May 15, 1937 in Limestone County , Alabama, the daughter of the late Tommy Curtis and Lena Mae Wright Gatlin. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Robert Perrin on October 11, 1957and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1990.



Mrs. Perrin was a retired factory worker and homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She had lived in Grand Rapids, MI for over 14 years until making her final residence in Wayne County, TN in 1972.



Mrs. Perrin departed this life on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her home at the age of 73 Years, 8 Months, 14 Days.



She is survived by a son, Gary Perrin and wife, Martha, her special caregiver, of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Cathy Atwell and husband, Bobby of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Melissa McDonald and husband, Jeremy, Michael Mashburn and wife, April, Mark Porter and wife, Christy, Justin Porter and wife, Heather; great-grandchildren, Dillon McDonald, Kadee Adams, Kaytlynn (Katie) McDonald, Reanna Porter, Abby Porter, Weslee (JoJo) Porter, and Jenna Porter; brother, Bill Bassham of MI; sisters, Dona White of AL and Tythia Farris of MI; brothers-in-law, Ted Zeidel of Detroit, MI, J. C. Cates of MS, and James White of Waynesboro, TN; sisters-in-law, Sue and Willa Pearl Gatlin both of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Perrin was preceded in death by brothers, Osborn, Jack, and Hollis Gatlin, sisters, Lerline Zeidel, Melvalene White, and Betty Cates, sister-in-law, Eva Lee Gatlin, and brother-in-law, Leighton White.



Services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Eddie Rogers and John Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery (Wayne County), Lawrenceburg, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Monday, January 31, 2011 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
