Gene Carter

 Henderson, TN: Mr. Ralton Gene Carter age 91, died Friday, December 13, 2024 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born October 14, 1933, in Haleyville, Alabama, son of the late William Irvin and Fannie Lou Gravitt Carter. He grew up in Haleyville and was a graduate of Haleyville High School.

He married Joyce Hill on February 6, 1976 and they moved to Henderson shortly after they married.

Mr. Carter worked as a Corporate Distribution Manager for I Appel in Scotts Hill and in Henderson for many years until his retirement.

He wa an avid golfer and Alabama football fan.

He was a member of Next Level Church in Henderson.

He is survived by his wife Joyce of Henderson; three sons Ricky Carter and Steve Carter (Mechele) both of Haleyville, AL and Geoff McLemore (Nichole) of Henderson; a daughter Kelly Beth Harris (John) of Bluffton, SC; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother Bill Carter; a sister Charlsey Baker and two granddaughters Jamie and Katie Carter.

A memorial service will be held  11:00 AM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Next Level Church in Henderson, with Pastor Nickolas O'Shields officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM Saturday.
