Geneva Risner Byrd of Lawrenceburg, TN departed this life on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Waynesboro Health & Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 11 Months, 10 Days. She was born July 9, 1930 in Collinwood, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Roy Risner and Viola Long Risner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ormand Allen Byrd, a sister, Opal Risner Skelton and a brother Edgar Risner.
She was united in marriage to Ormand Allen Byrd on September 28, 1947.Mrs. Byrd, along with her husband, was self employed with rental property and owned restaurants in Waynesboro, TN. She was a member of the Highland Methodist Church in Waynesboro, TN.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Linda Gobble and husband, Paul of Lawrenceburg, TN, Twyla Franks and husband, Terry of Waynesboro, TN, Brenda McWilliams and husband, Dexter of Lawrenceburg, TN and 1 son, David Allen Byrd and wife, Sherry of Waynesboro, TN, grandchildren, Tracy Gobble, Shawn Gobble, Jeremy Gobble, Ryan Franks, Jeff Franks, Tim Franks, Chris Porter, Christy Gaddes, Rick McWilliams, Charles McWilliams Jr., Tony McWilliams, Shannon Beckham, Jon David Byrd, Mary Milam and Nick Milam; great-grandchildren, Brooke Weigart, Brandon Gobble, Cassie Dooley, Kody Gobble, Carson Gobble, T. J. Gobble, Pacey Gobble, Casey Franks, Avery Franks, Annsley Franks, Emma Smith, Will Franks, Audrey Franks, Allyson Franks, Donnie Porter, Hannah Porter, Christian Porter, Devon Griggs, Spencer Gaddes, Jacob Gaddes, Conley Byrd and Cohen Byrd, several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Services will be Monday, June 21, 2021 at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, TN with grandson, Jon David Byrd and Bro. Harold Young officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Methodist Church Cemetery (Wayne County), Lawrenceburg, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home on Monday, June 21, 2021.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Gobble, Jeremy Gobble, Ryan Franks, Jeff Franks, Tim Franks, Jon David Byrd, Chris Porter and Chad Gaddes with Shawn Gobble as honorary pallbearer.
