Geneva Parsons Newman, age 82, died September 27, 2009 at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Dade City, FL.She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late William Preston and Martha Sue Campbell Parsons. She attended school at Hornsby and in Covington. She worked at the Cotton Mill and Café at Covington, where she met Clarence Lindsey Newman and they married in 1946. They lived at Fort Meade, Maryland for a year and moved to Covington, TN in 1957 and later moved to Frayser in Memphis. She was a member of the East Frayser Church of Christ. Mrs. Newman was a nurse for Drs. Williams, Workman and Hummell Ob/Gyn. She retired in 1978 and moved to Masseyville. She worked at Walmart in Selmer. They made their home in Henderson in 1983. She was an avid flower gardner and loved to travel. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.She is survived by her husband Clarence Lindsey Newman and a son, Donald Lindsey Newman of Henderson and a daughter, Sandra Newman Rowland of Ridge Manor, FL; a brother, Buddy Parsons of Henderson; two sisters, Evelyn Brigman of Bartlett, TN and Louise Rowland of Henderson; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
