Gentry S. Parker

March 23, 1919 — August 19, 2012

Mr. Parker was born Sunday, March 23, 1919, in Hardeman County to Joel Hermon and Nancy Pirtle Parker. He married Myrtle Wiles on April 18, 1941 and she passed away December 21, 2002 after 61 years of marriage. Mr. Parker was a farmer and owned Parker's New and Used Furniture Store in Whiteville. He was a former Whiteville City alderman, Hardeman County commissioner and a former FHA loan committee member. He was a member of the Whiteville First Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of Hardeman County.



Mr. Parker leaves as his survivors three daughters, Faye Bingham and her husband John of Foley, AL., Gail Pinner and her husband Bob of Whiteville, and Pam Parker of Arlington; a son, Sammy Parker and his wife Dottie of Cloverport; and a sister, Gladys Bush of Germantown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kerney, Earl, Leo and Norvis Parker and two sisters, Mildred Ellis and Nelle Wilkerson.
