George Wayne Brown, Sr., 74, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, June 23, 2005. Retired from Memphis City Schools, Wayne was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church, Carpenters Local 345 and served in the Air Force and Army. He is survived by wife, Nell A. Brown; daughter, Cheri Brown Conkin; sons and daughters-in-law, George W. Brown Jr. and Diane, Larry A. Brown and Meitra; eight grandchildren; brother-in-law, Harold Wilson of Alabama and sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and George Stewart of Jonesboro, Ark.
Graveside services were Sunday, June 26 at 3:30 PM in Cearley Cemetery near Toone. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
