Mr. George James departed this life on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Wayne County Nursing in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 7 Months, 22 Days. He was born October 29, 1920 in Smithville, TN the son of the late William Cleveland and Mary Martilla Pedigo James. Mr. George was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mr. George James worked for the Soil Conservation Service for the US Government ; and George James Realty and Appraisals, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee; Lions Club; Waynesboro Golf Club and Savannah Bowling League. Mr. George served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Shirley on November 27, 1955.
He is survived by his wife Sarah (Shirley) James of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Steve Everett James of Houston, TX, William Aurie James of Antioch, CA, Michael Carroll James and wife Lenesa of Nolensville, TN; grandchildren; Christopher James, Anna James, Emma James and Ethan James; two grand girls; Christy Sherrill and Jessica Hammonds.
