GEORGE A. JOHNSON
Lexington, TN: George Amos Johnson age 75 passed away November 9, 2015 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 13, 1940 in Brewton, AL the son of the late George Manford and Inez Paulk Johnson. He attended school in Brewton and worked in logging as a young man. He served in the Army from 1963 until 1965. He moved to Chester County in 1970 and was married to Melba Jo Jones in 1972. He worked as a plumber for AAA Plumbing in Jackson for 20 years and retired in 1996. He was Pentecostal in belief.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Melba Jo Jones Johnson of Lexington; a daughter, Sheila Ann Corbitt and husband Haron of Luray; one stepson, Paul Jones of Huron; three sisters, Rethaer Kay Johnson, Martha Morgan and Faye Butts all of Brewton, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepson, Kenny Silvers (2014) and a brother, Huey Johnson.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday November 14, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Rocky Silvers officiating.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 1:00 PM Saturday.
