George N. McGee of Lawrenceburg, TN was born January 15, 1941 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late Theodore R. and Irene Gallaher McGee. He was united in marriage to Bertie Mae Hill on December 19, 1966.
Mr. McGee was a carpenter, a member of the Ovilla Fire Hall, and a member of the Zion Baptist Church.
Mr. McGee departed this life on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at his home at the age of 68 Years, 11 Months, 5 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie McGee of Lawrenceburg, TN; daughters, Kimberly A. McGee and Kristie M. Bolton both of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Karen L. Tokarz of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Kyle Cornelius, Chad Cornelius, Erika Bolton, Chelsey Bolton, Caitlynn Beasley, Paighton Bolton, Emily Tokarz; sisters, Marie Robertson of Humbolt, TN, Doris Day of Foley, AL, Frances Hill of Lawrenceburg, TN, Glenda Moore of Westpoint, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McGee was preceded in death by brothers, H. D. McGee, Charles McGee; sister, Rebecca Brown.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Chad Clanton, Joseph Senter, Kenneth McCaferty officiating. Pallbearers will be Kyle and Chad Cornelius, Phillip Moore, Greg and Chris Hill, Gerry and Dwight McGee, Kenny Robertson, Stephen Day. Burial will follow in the Gallaher Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing.
