George Allen Phillips was born on September 20, 1934, in Adamsville, Tennessee, the son of the late Bishop and Beulah Alice French Phillips. On December 4, 1957, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Jean Russell, who preceded him in death in 1996.
Mr. Phillips served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked as an engine tester for the Caterpillar Corporation, where he retired. Before moving to Pekin, Illinois, he lived in Crump, Tennessee and was a member of the Crump United Methodist Church. He enjoyed motorcycling, spending time with his family and spending time with his grand kids.
Mr. Phillips departed this life on July 11, 2013, in Canton, Illinois, at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 21 days.
He is survived by three sons, Robert Phillips, Doug Phillips, Kevin Phillips, and his wife, Tonya, all of Pekin, Illinois; and two grandchildren, Lindsey Phillips and Natalie Phillips.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Ray Phillips and sister, Dean Phillips Cotner.
