Mrs. Georgia Mae Yopp of Middleton, passed from this life on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the age of 92 years, 10 months and 12 days.
Born January 25, 1923 in Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of George Thomas and Effie Mae Weaver Price. She was married March 1, 1942 to Mr. Godwin B. Yopp who preceded her in death on August 28, 1980. They moved to Middleton in the early 1940's and she worked at Nat T. Winston until she retired after 30 years of service as a Procurement Officer. A member of the Middleton Church of Christ she was devoted to her family and enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include 2 daughers, Lynda Miller and her husband Kenny of McKenzie and Elna Blankenship and her husband Jim of Jackson, TN; 2 sons, Bryan Yopp and wife Cindy of Ripley, MS and Druie Yopp and wife Mary of Henderson; 6 grandchildren, Matt Kee, Amanda and Chase Craig, Jessica Sharp, and Ken and Angela Miller; 7 great-grandchildren, Will Gray, Tate and Reed Kee, Summer Surber, Luke Yopp, Ava Sharp and Grayson Craig; a niece Sylvia Sue Merritt and a nephew Eric Garrison both of Virginia. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 siblings and 2 grandchildren, Jon and Lee Yopp.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center.
