Georgia Blount Staggs

Georgia Blount Staggs of Loretto, TN, formerly of Clifton, TN was born August 1, 1938 in Huntsville, AL, the daughter of the late James Marvin Blount and Mary Martha Manning Blount Helton. She was united in marriage to Gene Staggs on June 10, 1956 and preceded her in death on December 30, 2005.

Mrs. Staggs was a seamstress having worked at Clifton Manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Staggs departed this life on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 3 Months, 16 Days.

She is survived by a son, Tony Gene Staggs of Loretto, TN; grandsons, T. J. Staggs, wife, Morgan and Matthew Staggs, wife, Alex; great-grandchild, Ellie Mae Staggs; daughter-in-law, Kathy Kay Staggs; sister-in-law, Bonnie Smith; brother-in-law, Jimmy Roberts, Jr.; nieces, Joy Neely, Susan, Arnold, Brandi Lee, Kathy Tatum and nephews, Brandon Treadwell, Roger Smith.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Staggs was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Staggs; a brother, James Blount; a sister, Nancy Blount Roberts; step-father, Tolbert Helton and her companion, Little Man

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Ricky Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be T J Staggs, Matt Staggs, Roger Smith, Tommy Daniels, Hunter Tucker and Blake Sanders with Brandon Treadwell as honorary pallbearer.
