Gerald Wayne Barnes

Gerald Wayne Barnes, 76, of Middleton, passed from this life Thurs., May 2, 2024, at Bolivar General Hospital.

He was the son of the late Daniel Wells Barnes, Sr. and Elsie Elizabeth Howell Barnes.  He was born and lived most all of his life in Hardeman County, however, he did split living here with 6 months in Texas every year.  He also lived for 2 years in California.

Mr. Barnes attended Hebron Baptist Church as a boy and, in his leisure time, enjoyed riding his bike, making jokes, bowling, playing Skip-Bo and Dominios.  He was fond of travelling to various destinations such as Disneyworld, Hawaii and, Puerto Rico.

He leaves his sister, Shirley Jean Kirk of Austin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria Annette Jolly, Sandra Mae Barnes and, Barbara Barnes Cox; and two brothers, Daniel Well Barnes, Jr. and William Golden Barnes.
