GERALD BISHOP
Marion, AR: Gerald Dewayne Bishop age 74 passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Scottshill, TN and grew up in Chester County, the son of the late Dewey Raymond and Zula Mae Lewis Bishop. He attended Chester County Schools. He served in the U.S. Air Force for two years and the Air Force Reserve for two years. He married Evelyn Morrison in 1960. They made their home in the West Memphis - Marion area for 38 years where he owned and operated Bishop Truck Brokerage. He was a Methodist.
Mr. Bishop is survived by his wife, Evelyn Morrison Bishop of Marion; a daughter, Kim Martinez of West Memphis, AR; a grandson, Derek Dewayne Pritchett, and a great grandson, Dawson Mathis-Pritchett both of West Memphis, AR; four brothers, Jerry Bishop and Dennis Bishop both of Phoenix, AR, Ray Bishop of Henderson and Danny Glenn Bishop of Jackson; three sisters, Ann Newman of Henderson, Imogene Naylor of Finger and Genia McCann of Horn Lake, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Bishop and a sister Gloria May.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Iran Smith officiating and burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 2:00 PM Thursday until service time of 3:00 PM Thursday.
