Gerald Hadley, Sr. was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 18th, 1932, into a large and loving family. His father, Julius Erskine Hadley, Sr. and mother, Christine Elisabeth Hadley are both deceased, along with one daughter, Vickey E. Hadley and one son, Gerald D. Hadley, Jr.
Gerald passed away peacefully at his residence in Jackson, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He lived a life rich with purpose and fulfillment. He was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife Jannie, whose love and support were the cornerstone of his life.
Gerald's professional journey was as varied as it was impactful. In his early years, he traveled and had an acquired taste for golf and participation in debates. Upon return to Nashville, where he was raised, he worked as a construction leader, building not only stunning structures, but also a foundation of integrity and hard work. His calling however was in his spiritual work. When he retired from construction, he became a minister. As a minister, he expressed his compassion at Guys Christian Church, Oak Hill Christian Church, and Harper Road Christian Church. His mercifulness extended further as a hospice chaplain with Magnolia Hospital, where he provided comfort and solace to many in their final moments.
Gerald had many pleasures in life. He had a deep love for Gospel music, often filling his home with the sounds of his guitar and his heartfelt singing. His music was a reflection of his spirit; vibrant, loving, and deeply connected to his faith.
Gerald's greatest joy came from his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His love for his family was evident in everything he did and his legacy will continue to live on in their hearts.
His life was a testament his love, faith, and dedication. He is survived by his loving wife, Jannie Hadley of Jackson, TN, two sisters, Judy Putty and Norma Tidwell both of Hendersonville, TN, brother, Randy Hadley of Whitehouse, TN, three grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
