IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geri Gaddy
Boyd
March 5, 1933 – February 15, 2026
Geraldine Gaddy Boyd was born on March 5, 1933, in Leapwood, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Oliver Gaddy and Beulah Hysmith Gaddy. She was raised in a close-knit community where faith, family, and hard work were simply a way of life. Those early roots shaped the gracious, steady woman she remained throughout her 92 precious years.
On May 16, 1953, she married the love of her life, William Manley Boyd. Together they built a home grounded in devotion, loyalty, and simple joys. Their 54 years of marriage stood as a beautiful testimony of commitment and abiding love. Mr. Boyd preceded her in death on May 26, 2007, but the legacy of their life together continues to bless their family.
Geraldine dedicated many faithful years to her work at Selmer Bank and Trust, continuing in her role as the bank later transitioned to Regions Bank until her retirement. She served as a proof operator, working diligently behind the scenes to balance and verify the bank’s daily transactions. Her work required precision, focus, and unwavering attention to detail. She took great pride in doing her job well, and her accuracy, integrity, and quiet diligence earned the trust and respect of those who worked alongside her.
Her faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, Geraldine loved her church family dearly. She found special joy in Gospel music and the old hymns of the faith. Whether sitting in the pew on Sunday morning or listening to a favorite song at home, her heart was always lifted in praise.
She enjoyed traveling, dining at her favorite restaurants, and spending time out visiting with family and friends. Yet above all else, her family was her greatest blessing. Her son and grandchildren were the light of her life. She treasured every gathering, every conversation, and every shared meal. To them, she was steady strength, gentle wisdom, and unconditional love—a true Southern matriarch whose prayers and presence shaped generations.
Mrs. Boyd departed this life on February 15, 2026, in Corinth, Mississippi, at the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 10 days. While her earthly journey has come to a close, we find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband and is resting in the arms of her Savior.
She is survived by her son, Craig Boyd of Selmer, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Cassie Hampton and husband Caleb of Helenwood, Tennessee, and Jennifer Lynn Lipford and husband Matthew of Ramer, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Paulette Rippie of Selmer, Tennessee; a niece, Kathy Hysmith of Leapwood, Tennessee; and two nephews, David Rippie and wife Lynn of Selmer, Tennessee, and Ron Ashe and wife Freeda of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Avonelle Hysmith; a sister-in-law, Mildred Ashe; three brothers-in-law, Clifford Rippie, Albert Ashe, Sr., and Ira Hysmith; and two nephews, Albert David Ashe, Jr. and Weldon Hysmith.
Geraldine’s life was a quiet but powerful testimony of faith, love, and steadfast devotion. She lived simply, loved deeply, and left this world better than she found it. She will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
