Geraldine Jackson Moore, a cherished member of her community and family, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on April 27, 1937, in Waynesboro, Tennessee, Geraldine lived a life marked by kindness, love, and dedication to those around her.
Geraldine was employed as a sewing machine operator with Angelica Corporation, where her skill and craftsmanship were highly regarded. Throughout her life, she nurtured a warm and generous spirit, attributes that her family fondly remembers. They described her as kind and someone who loved everyone, a testament to the compassionate nature that defined her.
Her interests were wide-ranging and reflective of a vibrant personality. Geraldine enjoyed engaging her mind with crossword puzzles, found joy in thrifting, and appreciated the storytelling found in Western shows. In her younger years, she embraced the lively art of buck dancing, and these hobbies added richness and delight to her everyday life.
Geraldine’s family was central to her life. She was the beloved mother of George Cleveland Moore (Kristy) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; Cynthia (Peggy Jo) Gatlin (Tony) of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; Ethel Jane Cummins (Terry) of Waynesboro, Tennessee; and Virginia Ann Pierce of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Her legacy continues through her multiple grandchildren Including great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren.
She was born to the late George Anderson Jackson and Ethel Dugger Jackson, who undoubtedly instilled in her the values she carried throughout her life. Geraldine was united in marriage to the late C.F. Moore on May 1, 1954, a partnership that was the foundation of her family life. She tenderly mourned the loss of her Son, Tim Franklin Moore, grandson's Franklin Moore Jr, and Michael Moore and granddaughter Christy Gatlin. Additionally, she was the mother-in-law to the late Deborah Moore, Amy Moore, and Pebble Moore. Geraldine also grieved the passing of her siblings, Silas Jackson and Pearline Jackson.
Geraldine Moore’s passing leaves a profound void within her family and community. Her life was a testament to devotion, kindness, and love—qualities that will be remembered and treasured by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever honored in the hearts of her living family and those who had the privilege to know her.
