Gertrude Martin

Gertrude Dabbs Martin of Waynesboro, TN was born March 17, 1936 in Hohenwald, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Lon and Lizzie Jane Sieber Dabbs. Mrs. Martin was a retired dietian at Wayne Care Nursing Home and was a member of the Waynesboro Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Tennessee.Mrs. Martin departed this life on Friday, May 27, 2011 at her home at the age of 75 Years, 2 Months, 10 Days.She is survived by her husband, Leonard Martin of Waynesboro, TN; a son, Tommy Plunkett of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Ester Story of Waynesboro, TN; nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Plunkett; a brother, John Dabbs; a sister, Marcella Dabbs. Services will be held on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Pinckley and Laverne Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, directing.Pallbearers will be Wayne Dabbs, Damon Dabbs, Paul Walker, Babe Staggs, Tyler Belsha, and Colby Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Russ and Buddy Hughes.
