Ginger Leigh Johnson

Ginger Leigh Johnson was born September 15, 1968 in Selmer, TN the daughter of Judy Naylor Raines and the late Douglas Raines.

She was united in marriage to Terry Johnson on August 5, 1989.

Ginger was a 1986 graduate of Adamsville High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad and color guard.  After graduation she attended the University of Tennessee at Martin.  Ginger worked as a receptionist for Reflexion Industries, Inc. in Memphis and as a bookkeeper for a doctor's office in Germantown prior to moving to Florence, Alabama.  While in Florence she was employed as a secretary for what was then International Bible College, now Heritage Christian University, and attended the Chisholm Hills church of Christ.  After relocating to McNairy County Ginger worked as a bookkeeper for Selmer Middle School and as a substitute teacher for the McNairy County School System.  She and her husband Terry attended the Fourth Street church of Christ in Selmer and most recently the Stantonville church of Christ.  Ginger was a devoted band mom, supporting her children Emilie and Walker as members of the MCHS Bobcat Marching Band.  Traveling to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, camping with her husband, attending country music concerts, scrapbooking, adult coloring, and fiercely loving her grandchildren were some of Ginger's favorite activities.  She loved tulips and looked forward to their blooming each spring, a sign of re-birth following the winter.

Ginger departed this life on March 15, 2023 in Stantonville, Tennessee at the age of 54 Years, 6 Months.  She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Terry Johnson of Stantonville, TN; a daughter, Emilie (Johnson) Curry and husband Zachariah of Hillsboro, MO; a son, Walker Johnson of Stantonville, TN; five grandchildren: James Curry, Anthony Curry, Everlie Mae Curry, Vera Curry, and Baby Curry (due in September), all of Hillsboro, MO; her mother, Judy Naylor Raines of Stantonville, TN; a brother, Chris Raines and wife Katharine of Trenton, TN; two nephews, Will Raines and Aidan Raines, both of Trenton, TN; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her father, Ginger was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Roy and Ruth Raines and maternal grandparents Arthur and Lois Naylor.
