Gladys Blount

GLADYS BLOUNTwas born in Benton, Kentucky on February 10, 1914 the daughter of the late Marvin Lee and Bertha Mae Graham Ward.On February 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to Harold Blount, who preceded his wife in death on December 18, 1988.Mrs. Blount was a retired teacher for the Hardin County Schools. She taught English, Latin and French for 43 years. Mrs. Blount loved her students. She was a graduate of Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. Mrs. Blount was a member of First United Methodist Church, Savannah Book Club and was a member of the Wesleyan Circle. She loved her bridge clubs, Kentucky basketball and all things Kentucky and Mrs. Blount was always with her beloved Scotties. She departed this life on May 3, 2011 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 97 years, 2 months and 23 days.Mrs. Blount is survived by one daughter, Mae Frances Blount of Savannah, Tennessee.
