Mrs. Jones passed away Wednesday morning, March 9, 2011 at her home in Memphis.
The wife of Billy Jones, who survives, she retired after 26 years as an office worker for Malone and Hyde. Mrs. Jones was born October 12, 1935 in Toone to the late Lexus Leonard King and Carmel Cleo Owens King and lived in Memphis since June 27, 1972. She was a member of Chewalla Baptist Church, loved her family and enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. She fought cancer for 11 years.
In addition to her husband, whom she married October 13, 1990, she is survived by five daughters, Linda Jackson Stanford of Marion, AR, Margie McKee of Cleveland, Patty Jackson Hollingsworth of Memphis, Melissa James of Rossville, GA and Janie Wilson of Cleveland; a son, Vance Ray McGuire of Iuka, MS; a sister, Judy Fisher of Pensacola, FL; five brothers, Cecil King of Cleveland, OH, Marion King of Memphis, Paul and Ed King, both of Byhalia, MS and Jim King of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a stepdaughter, Debbie McGuire of Cleveland; two stepsons, Anthony James Jones and Donald Wayne Jones, both of Somerville; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
