Gladys Lancaster was born on October 22, 1934 in Potosi, Missouri, the daughter of the late Frank Kirby and Grace Jarvis DeClue.
Gladys worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri until her retirement in 2002. She loved to cook and was amazing at it. Gladys loved Jesus, Elvis, and playing bingo. She was a member of Peoples Tabernacle Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Gladys Lancaster departed this life on May 3, 2026 in Adamsville, Tennessee, at the age of 91 years, 6 months, and 11 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Lancaster of Savannah, Tennessee; granddaughter, Tara Vagedes of St. Louis, Missouri; and great grandchildren, Zach Lancaster and Arsen Vagedes.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her sons, Steven Lancaster and Alan Lancaster; sisters, Mary Waller and Verna Belfield; brothers, Jimmy Kirby and Jerry Kirby; grandchildren, Aaron Lancaster and Derrick Lancaster; and her former spouse and best friend, Gordon Lancaster.
