Gladys Lucille Tigner Donahoe, age 88, of Whiteville, passed away Monday morning, May 30, 2016 at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Bolivar.
A native of Hornsby, she was born February 3, 1928, to the late William A. and Callie Tigner. In her earlier years she worked at the Bolivar Processing Plant and for more than 25 years at Western Mental Health Institute. After retirement from there she cared for the elderly.
Mrs. Donahoe loved to cook, sew and do crafting of all types. She loved music and loved to sing and dance and interact with people. She was a member of Hatchie Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Wanda Hammons and husband Ray of Whiteville and Linda Vinson and husband Jim of Canton, MS; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband, Charles F. Hanna; two sisters, Bonnie McMahan and Jeanette Tank; a brother, Robert Tigner; a son, Tracy Donahoe and a great grandchild. Memorial donations in Mrs. Donahoe's name may be made to Hatchie Baptist Church.
