Gladys Irene Nicholson

Gladys Irene Hopper Nicholson was born May 10, 1920 in Chester Co., Tennessee the daughter of the late Ezra Vincent and Nellie Mae Howell Hopper. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1940. She was married to John Pipkin in 1941 who precedes her in death. She then later married Clarence Nicholson who precedes her in death. She was employed by Salant and Salant retiring in 1982 after 28 years of employment with them. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.Mrs.Nicholson departed this life on December 3, 2009 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 6 Months, 23 Days.She is survived by a daughter, Nella Rush and husband John of Henderson, TN; a son, John Pipkin and wife Cherrie of Henderson, TN; two sisters, Mildred Hazelgrove of Buford , SC, Marilyn Baldwin of Sumnter, SC; three grandchildren, Mark Harbin, Rhonda Woodham, Brandon Pipkin; 7 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild.In addition to her parents and husban, Mrs.Nicholson was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack Hopper, Clarence Hopper, Carl Hopper, Bill Hopper; and three sisters, Ruby Hopper, Edna Hopper, Clara McCarver.
