Glen A. Curtis was born October 17, 1942 in Selmer, TN the son of the late John Wesley and Virble Sanders Curtis.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Burrow on September 11, 1990.
Mr. Curtis graduated from Selmer High School in 1960. After graduation, he began his law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff serving under Sheriff Buford Pusser, he then went to work for the State of Tennessee as a state trooper. He served communities in Middle and West Tennessee, worked on the governor security staff for Gov. Ray Blanton, and retired after 30 years of service as a lieutenant. He was a member of the American Association of State Troopers and the Fraternal Order of Police. He loved his family, enjoyed fishing and was proud to call West Tennessee his home.
Mr. Curtis departed this life on February 11, 2013 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 70 Years, 3 Months, 25 Days. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Burrow) Curtis of Bartlett, TN; a son, Richard Curtis and wife Bradley of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Tracy Brigance and husband Mark Johns of Memphis, TN; three grandsons, Wade Curtis of Memphis, TN, Wes Curtis of Spring Hill, TN, Hunner Brigance of Memphis, TN; close friend, David Brigance of Memphis, TN; host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by
a grandson, Matt Brigance.
