Glenda F. Bratton Ferguson was born December 28, 1926 in Bruce, Mississippi the daughter of the late Ellie Clinton and Joyce Harris Bratton.
She was united in marriage to D. D. Ferguson on October 27, 1945. Mr. Ferguson preceded her in death on April 6, 2004.
Mrs. Ferguson was a graduate of Bruce High School in Bruce, MS. She was a homemaker by choice but did work briefly as a secretary for the First Baptist Church in Selmer and for the Sears Catalog Store, also in Selmer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Selmer, where she sang in the choir and also led singing in the children's department. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending her flowers, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ferguson departed this life on July 18, 2011 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 6 Months, 20 Days. She is survived by three daughters: Paula Misenhimer and husband Keith, Kay Donaldson and husband George, Molly Cheshier and husband Jack, all of Selmer, TN; a son, Glenn Ferguson and wife Lucretia of Selmer, TN; seven grandchildren: Lori (Donaldson) Knerr and husband Barry, Jennifer (Misenhimer) Smith and husband Stanley, Jason Misenhimer and wife Amy, Brent Ferguson, Brian Ferguson, Whitney Cheshier, Reed Cheshier; seven-great grandchildren: Sam Summers, Bailey Knerr, Collin Misenhimer, Megan Smith, Trent Smith, Cole Waller, Carter Misenhimer; a sister, Linda (Bratton) Ward and husband Harold of Bruce, MS; a brother, Larry Bratton and wife Shirley of Calhoun City, MS; caregivers Linda Lanham, Alice Martin, Glenda Mitchell, Cindy Sappington, and Elizabeth Thomas; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Laderle Bratton.
