GLENN SAULS
Haleyville, AL: Glenn Hayes Sauls age 89 passed away January 20, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Detroit, MI and grew up at Pinson, TN the son of the late Carl P. Sauls and Sarah Francis Williams Sauls. He attended school at Pinson and entered the Navy from the tenth grade in 1942. He served six years, during WWII, in the Southwest Pacific with the Seabees & Aviation Construction Crews and also served in the Shore Patrol in Germany. He then served four years in the Reserve. He lived in Michigan for thirty-two years and worked for Great Lakes Steel for seven years and twenty-five years at McLouth Steel.
He married Hilda Frances Wilson, she passed away in 1973. He later married Brenda Palmer. They moved to Haleyville, AL in 1980, where he had worked for several security companies. He was a life time member of the Lincoln Park Masonic Lodge #539 in Lincoln Park, MI.
Mr. Sauls is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Palmer Sauls of Haleyville; a daughter, Glenda Gayle Cox of Murfreesboro; step children, Debra Ann Lovin of Brighton, MI and Myra Elizabeth Deuman of Goodrich, MI and Edward Harrison of Brighton, MI; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Vera Sue Dallard and a brother, Graper F. Sauls.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Jimmy Dyer and Joe McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday. Masonic Rites will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
