Gloria passed from this life Friday, February 5, 2016.
She was born in Middleton, the daughter of Tony Pierce, who preceded her in death, and Stella Crowley Pierce of Bolivar, who survives. Mrs. Avent spent most all of her life in Hardeman County and was a 1981 graduate of Bolivar Central High School. On August 28, 1982, she was united in marriage to Randy Avent and for over 20 years was manager of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Bolivar. Most recently, she had worked in the cafeteria at Bolivar Elementary School. Gloria was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ and loved to volunteer and work at school festivals. A lady with a big heart, she helped many people along her life's journey. She especially loved her children, grandchild and other family and friends.
She leaves her husband, Randy of Bolivar; daughters, Nicki Avent and Hailey Grace Avent, both of Bolivar; her mother, Stella Pierce of Bolivar; two brothers, Allen Pierce of Georgia, and Jimmy Pierce of Bolivar; and a grandchild, Devin Todd.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Todd.
