Gloria Hope Brown Skaggs

Gloria Hope Brown Skaggs, age 73, of Collinwood, TN, passed away on January 7, 2026. She was born on October 23, 1952, the daughter of the late Clice and Mary Lou Wilbanks Brown.

In a beautiful union of love, Gloria married Jimmy William Skaggs Sr. on March 25, 1971. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Gloria's faith was central to her life as a devout Christian and a dedicated member of the Forty-Eight Creek Church. Her deep-rooted beliefs guided her through life and offered solace to many. Professionally, she contributed her talents at Lincoln Brass for many years, before embracing the role of a homemaker with fierce dedication, ensuring that her home was a place of warmth and love.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Gloria’s nurturing spirit and unwavering love will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Skaggs Sr.; daughters, Ginger Renee Skaggs Shaw and husband Dan, Lesa Ann Skaggs, and Laura Beth Skaggs Stricklin; son, Jimmy William Skaggs Jr.; grandchildren, Haven Drew Jones, Hunter Michael Adams, Ashlynd Diane Hope Skaggs, Jimmy William "Bubba" Skaggs III, Amy Bethany Marie Davis, Brandy Kaylee-Ann Daniel, Peyton Ava Shaw, and Aubree Belle Stricklin ; and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Marlee Cox; and great granddaughter, Scarlett Jade White.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Tim Hanback officiating. Burial to follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN.
