Gloria Calton Williams

Gloria Rae Calton Retherford Williams was born June 8, 1960 in Hohenwald, TN, the daughter of Walter (Gene) Eugene Calton of Collinwood and the late Neva Rae Dixon Calton. Gloria died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 53 Years, 1 Month, 6 Days. She was married to Scott Retherford on February 28, 1981 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1984. Gloria had lived in Nunnelly, TN and Waynesboro, TN, however, she had made her home in Collinwood for several years. Gloria, a CNA and special education aid, was a member of Shawnettee United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Matt and Nick Retherford and Ben Williams; grandchildren, Kristen and Jonah Retherford; father and stepmother, Gene and Jeanette Calton, all of Collinwood, TN; four brothers, John Calton of Brentwood, TN, Billy Calton of Waynesboro, TN, Daryl Calton and Vernon Calton both of Collinwood, TN; a sister, Judy Calton Prater of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amanda Retherford and grandparents, Grayson and Dolly Dixon and Tom and Mazie Calton.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 15, 2013 6:00-9:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 15, 12:00 noon until 2:30 pm Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN. Graveside services and burial will be Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 3 pm at Shawnettee Memory Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Luke Calton and Thad Calton officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be her brothers, Vernon, Daryl, Billy, and John Calton and her son, Matt and Nick Retherford and hononary pallbearers will be her son, Ben Williams and her sister, Judy Prater.

In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up at Wayne County Bank in Collinwood, TN.
