Gordon Ray Mayfield left us to join the angels on January 6, 2016 in Portland, Oregon. He was taken from us suddenly to join our heavenly Father.
He was born April 1, 1953, to Gordon and Anita Murphy Mayfield in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from high school and joined the Army. He made a career of military service, retiring from the United States Army in September 1996. After his military service, he started his second career in long haul truck driving which he loved.
Mr. Mayfield leaves behind his best friend and loving wife Sandy of Tacoma, Washington; a daughter Brandy and husband Jody; three sons, Robert and wife Diane and Joseph and wife Monika, both of whom are stationed in Germany, and Damien and wife Sarah of Tacoma, Washington; 14 beautiful grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Hannah Jo, Hayden, Hunter, Cheyenne, Marcus, Melanie, Missy, Matthew, Heath, Eric, Bryce, Hailey, Kyle, and Gabriel. He also leaves behind many relatives, family, and friends.
Preceding Mr. Mayfield in death were his parents, Gordon and Anita, his grandparents whom he loved dearly, a son, Tyler, and a daughter, Brittany.
He will be greatly missed by everyone including the Schneider family that considered him one of their own. God bless you and may you rest in peace.
