Grace Franks Shelby was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on July 30, 1921 the daughter of the late Charlie Hassell and Alice White Franks.On August 9, 1947 she was united marriage to Warren G. Shelby, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2008.Mrs. Shelby had worked for Brown Shoe Company as a floor lady. During W.W.II she had worked in Mobile, Alabama in one of the shipyards, she was one of the many called "Rosie the Riveter". She loved to quilt, work word-search puzzles, vegetable and flower gardening, sewing and cooking. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans. Mrs. Shelby was a member of the Eureka Methodist Church.Mrs. Shelby departed this life on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the age of 88 years, 5 months, 29 days.Mrs. Shelby is survived by a daughter, Sue Rickman, of Savannah, Tennessee; a son, Charles Greenwell of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister, Margie Briley of Savannah, Tennessee; a grandson, David Rickman.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Shelby was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mae Harris, Clyte Franks, and Helen Matlock; 3 brothers, Vondell, Edward, and Ulvie Franks.
