Gregory Allen Highland was born January 2, 1961, in Elkhart, Indiana, the son of Shirley Evans Highland and the late R.C. Highland. Greg grew up in the Walnut Grove Community and worked much of the time with his dad, R.C., logging and at the sawmill. He had lived in Moulton, Alabama the last 18 years.
Greg departed this life at his home in Moulton, Alabama on August 5, 2015, at the age of 54 following a short fight with cancer.
Greg enjoyed babysitting his grandkids and spending time with family and friends.
Other than his mother, he is survived by three sons, Joseph "Joey" Highland of Savannah, Tennessee, Edward Kajdas, and Issac Andrews of Moulton, Alabama; two daughters, Samantha Calhoun and Loisann (Kevin) Drinkard of Moulton, Alabama; sisters, Treasa Highland Petty, Joyce Golomski, and Sandra Perry of Savannah, Tennessee, and Helen Jones Barlow of Michigan; brothers, Denny Highland of Savannah, Tennessee, Benny Jones and Casey Jones both of Michigan; grandchildren, Ryan Cole Highland, Bailey and Lexie Calhoun, Alyssa and Jacob Kajdas, and Jayden Fala Kassa all of Moulton, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Brenda Andrews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. Highland, Larry Wayne Highland, and David Earl Smith; grandparents, Jep and Mamie Highland.
