Selmer, Tennessee

Gregory (Gregg) Dale Worthey

Gregory Dale (Gregg) Worthey was born in Okolona, Mississippi to Gerald and Ruby Worthey on September 9, 1968.

His early passions for baseball and the Bible led to many years coaching youth sports – including the 2012 Ramer Dixie Youth Tennessee State Champions– and a career of uniting believers through ministry.

His incredible breadth of knowledge spanned from Romans 8 and Revelation to 80s Pop and Outlaw Country music. He proudly served multiple churches throughout his career, was a founding member of Jesus Cares, and an active part of Selmer’s Ministerial Association. He will be remembered as an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Mississippi State Bulldogs, and a constant forget-er of coffee mugs.

Gregg has been reunited in Heaven with his dad and grandmother, as well as countless believers that he brought to Christ. Gregg was fortunate to be loved by many – he leaves behind his wife and high-school sweetheart Kim; his children Rachel, Ben, and Ava; his mother Ruby and his sister Missy, and four nephews: Brooks, David, Charlie, and Brady. He also leaves behind his Tennessee parents, Marcus and Patty Kiddy, sisters Brooke Kiddy and Brandi Wardlow, and bonus nephews and niece Jake, Judd, Jaci, and Jebb, as well as his church family at First Christian Selmer.
