Guinda Horton

June 30, 1945 — December 24, 2010

Guinda (Gwen) Linville Horton of Collinwood, TN was born June 30, 1945 in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Mary Louise Pigg Linville of Waynesboro, TN who survives and the late Lewis P. Linville. She was united in marriage to James Harold Horton on December 25, 1962. Mrs. Horton was a retired machine operator from Angelica at Collinwood Manufacturing and was a member of the Shawnettee United Methodist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee where she served as the Sunday School secretary. Mrs. Horton departed this life on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 65 Years, 5 Months, 24 Days. In addition to her father, Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her daughter, DaWanda Sue Horton. Other than her mother, she is survived by her husband, James Harold Horton; brother, Curtis Linville and wife, Sue; brother-in-law, Jerry Horton and wife, Betty Jean; Godchildren, Dwight and Keddith Andrews; special God grandchildren, Adam and Abby Andrews all of Collinwood, TN; nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shawnettee United Methodist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee, with John Ives officiating. Burial will follow in the Shawnettee Memory Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Pallbearers will be Phil Horton, Jake Linville, Jody Linville, Paul Ellis, Bobby Robbins, Dwight Andrews. Visitation will be Monday, December 27, 2010 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 9 am to 12 noon at the funeral home.
