Gurley Junior Harris

Henderson, TN: Gurley Junior “Bill’ Harris age 84, passed away March 1, 2011 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Chicago, IL and reared in Cumberland City, TN the son of the late Gurley Washington and Allie Olenie Bryant Harris. He had worked as a taxi cab driver, a semi truck driver and also in auto body shops. He served in the U. S. Navy during the end of WWII and also during part of the Korean War. He served in the Philippians. He had made his home near and in Henderson since 1986.
He is survived by a brother, Bobby Harris of Paducah, KY and several nieces and nephews including Dorothy Henry of Henderson who helped take care of him.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur “Buddy†Harris and Lonnie Neal Harris and three sisters, Bertha Lee Sullivan, Mabel Harris and Ethel Harris.
